Tijs van der Velden

Tijs van der Velden

Instructor / workgroup Bands Tijs dances Lindy Hop for a while now. After years of flirting with all types of dance and performing as a blues musician, he discovered Lindy Hop and never looked back. He loves social dancing and sharing the moments of absolute freedom when everything in a dance just “clicks”. The rest of the time he likes to nerd out about technique, musicality and the history of Lindy Hop.

Iris Smits

Iris Smits

Instructor/ workgroup Bands Iris discovered Lindy Hop after 6 years of Ballroom experience, and loves the space for creativity, humor and theatrics that Swing dancing has. Balancing technique and improvisation is something she is always working on, as well as encouraging others to truly find expression in their dancing. That and being a total 20s Charleston addict.

Sander Vocke

Sander Vocke

Instructor Try-outclasses Sander hardly knew what a dancefloor was until Jess introduced him to Lindy Hop in 2016. Since then, he is on a mission to find out if tall goofballs can dance! Still working on his technique and range of moves, he's hoping to start throwing in more style, teach others the ropes and most of all to enjoy the ride.

Jessica de Boer

Jessica de Boer

Instructor Try-Outclasses During an adventure in Costa Rica in 2016, Jess walked in to a bar. Instead of seeing smooth Latin bachata, she saw people hopping up and down and got instantly hooked on Lindy Hop. On the dancefloor, she loves that she can just act silly and be herself, and she loves it if she can share sense of joy.
